Identify a Millat tractor before ordering parts

AFRICA · INDEPENDENT BUYER GUIDE

A model badge is a useful starting point, but a parts enquiry should identify the individual tractor and the component being replaced. A short evidence file helps the supplier check the correct application.

Use clear component photographs together with model, serial number and part number when requesting spares.

Start with machine identification

Record the model designation, drive type and the engine and chassis numbers from the machine. Keep clear photographs of the identification markings alongside your transcription. Ask the supplier which identifiers are needed for the particular component; do not assume that one number resolves every parts question.

If the invoice and machine markings differ, flag the discrepancy instead of choosing whichever version looks more familiar. A previous owner may also have replaced assemblies, so record any known changes.

Describe the component and its position

Provide an overall photograph showing where the part fits, then a close view of markings and connection details. Include the quantity required and the applicable catalogue reference if you have one. Dimensions should come from a reliable measurement, not an estimate from a photograph.

Explain whether you need the complete assembly or a service component within it. This prevents a quotation for a larger assembly from being compared with a price for one small part.

Keep confirmation with the order

  • Machine identification and current configuration
  • Part number, component position and photographs
  • Required quantity and supplied unit of sale
  • Written application confirmation and any alternative reference
  • Delivery location and items still awaiting clarification

Retain the supplier response with the purchase record. On receipt, compare the labels and quantities with that record before a qualified technician installs the parts. Follow the applicable service instructions; a visual resemblance alone does not establish interchangeability.
